QRW’s Editorial Calendar

N O W   I N   O U R   3 2 N D   Y E A R   O F   P U B L I S H I N G

Note: In nearly every issue, QRW covers major wine stories in California, France, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, Spain and Portugal, along with detailed tasting notes. QRW is the only wine magazine that does not rate wines numerically. We do not believe that wine can be rated with numerical specificity. Please further note: editorial is subject to change without notice.

Holiday Issue/WINTER 2008/2009

The Winter issue is clearly our biggest and, along with Summer, our most popular, producing more than 200,000 copies for this quarter. This is the Annual Luxury Holiday issue, showcasing our 23rd Annual Champagne blind tasting of non-vintage, vintage, rose, and prestige wines. We do the same tasting for splendid California sparkling wines. Malt Whisky and Cognac close out our blind tastings for 2008.

Some featured articles are : Krug; The Two Heidsiecks (Charles & Piper); Domaine Carneros; Ramos-Pinto Wines; The Great 1955 First Growths (a major tasting in Manhattan with Serena Sutcliffe, Master of Wine and recipient of France’s highest award, Legion d’Honneur conducting); and Inexpensive Bordeaux. Our newest contributor, Beverley Blanning, Master of Wine, investigates The Aging of California Wines, and judging from the recent second victory of California over France’s Great Growths, there is no doubt that California wines age well indeed. As to further California editorial, we will help celebrate Ed Sbragia’s 25th Year in the wine world, offer our first article on Peju Winery, along with stories on wineries Monticello and Merryvale. The Australian offering will deal with a Profile of Rosemount and its newest releases.
